September Rehearsal details
The plan for this season is that rehearsals will last for 90 mins (7.30-9pm), with no break.
The first rehearsal will take longer because of logistics, announcements & music distribution. Please be patient as we find our feet.
Entrance will be from the back of the cathedral (accessed from Atholl St).
There are only 3-4 public parking places at the cathedral; these are for disabled players and those with very large instruments (double basses).
The nearest parking is on North Methven St or in Thimblerow Carpark.
An entrance register will be taken for Track & Trace, so there may be (socially distanced) queuing outside.
Bring a coat, umbrella and a lot of patience, and enjoy the chat.
There will be no music stands available - please bring your own.
Bring face coverings for inside the cathedral.
Please download & read the risk assessment. |

DO NOT ATTEND IF THERE IS ANY POSSIBILITY THAT YOU MAY HAVE COVID Symptoms: Sneezing, coughing, fever, fatigue, headache, muscle pains, loss of taste or smell or a positive test.
We strongly recommend vaccination and a recent (negative) lateral flow test
(LFT's are free to pick up from chemists & pharmacies).
1. Please wear face coverings in the cathedral until seated for playing.
2. Please use hand sanitiser.
3. Please do not share equipment. Bring & use individual music stands.
4. Please pick up your music before going to your seat.
5. Once seated, please remain there. Keep instrument case beside you.
6. Seating will be laid out to allow "social distancing". Please don't move the chairs.
Will PSO hold any concerts this season?
The concert hall is provisionally booked for Saturday 13th November, but these are uncertain times, so it is not certain if it one will take place.
What music is being planned?
Music is being chosen from Perth's central library this season and includes 2 overtures: Rossini's Thieving Magpie and Franz Suppé's Light Cavalry; Greig's Peer Gynt Suite #1; and Mozart's Symphony #40.
Using the library music will allow the orchestra to respond flexibly to attendees +/- changing government restrictions, without spending too much on rented music.
